If you had to give up one word that you use regularly, what would it be?

The word is “I” . This is the word the author feels people use most and it is this word which is the reason for all the inner and outer conflicts of life and existence .

Now what is this “I” . It is the image , the puny ego .Though the author tries to amuse by calling it puny but it is this ‘puny ego’ which rules the world . This “I” is the image that we have of ourselves and its only function is that tries to preserve itself by latching onto either good or bad. Both good and bad nourishes this ego , the “I” , the image , or the ‘lower self ‘.

• When “I” is insulted and thrashed – revenge is “I” survival response .
• When “I” is pampered or praised – That which puffs up is “I”
• When “I” competes and works hard – This “I” is not content and wants something greater for itself .
• When “I” tries to possess something – This “I” becomes “MY” or “MINE”.
• When “I” tries to do something good – “I” does this in pursuit of reward or recognition .
• When “I” feels exploited – This “I” tells that it is wronged . By feeling such , that is exploited , it is again preserving itself .
• When “I” feels boredom – This “I” resorts to indulgence in relations , friends, food , sex and drugs .
• When “I” feels psychologically threatened it is called as ‘insecurity’ .
• When “I” feels too compatible with somebody else it is termed as ‘LOVE’. What the world calls as ‘LOVE’ is nothing but extreme level of compatibility between two “I” or two images .And this too is conditional on physical act of sex and certain codes which provide psychological securities .

• When “I” is angry – because “I” desired something and it was deflected.
• When “I” fears – It must because its sole purpose and function is to fear . Fear is survival mechanism . In fact all actions of “I ” are survival mechanisms .
• When “I” tries to deny itself – It does so by latching onto spiritual and holy scriptures and gods . Now too “I” is preserved .
• When “I” tries to experience death – It tells itself that now I die and by telling itself that it dies it in fact denies death .
