A rising star in the racing world

Kashmir’s Atiqa Mir, a rising star in the racing world, has etched her name in history!
At the prestigious Le Mans Kart International circuit, the nine-year-old became the first female racer ever to win a race in the Rotax Challenge International Trophy.

Despite being a newcomer to the Le Mans track, Atiqa quickly mastered the new kart, dominating the practice sessions. However, she only managed the 10th place in Times Qualifying due to an unclear lap. But Atiqa wasn’t fazed.

In Race 2, she showcased her true potential, overtaking opponents to secure a historic first-place finish at Le Mans!

She triumphed over a competitive field of 36 drivers in her category, and a total of 318 racers from 40 nations across all categories.

This win places her amongst future racing legends, joining the ranks of champions like Max Verstappen, George Russell, and Lando Norris, who all achieved success in the Rotax Max series before reaching Formula 1.

Thrilled with her achievement, Atiqa said, “I’m so excited and happy to win the race! This is my first win in Europe, and it’s a result of all our hard work. I hope to keep this momentum going and bring even more glory to India!”

Well done, Atiqa! The racing world awaits your future victories!
