The Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge in San Diego, California is the longest wooden railroad bridge in the world. This magnificent bridge is built from mahogany blocks, stretching 185 meters and reaching almost 57 meters high. It is part of an extension known as the Carrizo Gorge, a section of a railway that earned the title of the “Impossible Railway” in 1919 due to the extreme technical and logistical difficulties involved in its construction. This symbolic bridge stands as a testament to early 20th-century engineering that remains an architectural marvel to this day.
