Navjot Singh Sidhu’s cricketing career spanned from 1983 to 1999, during which he played as an opening batsman for the Indian national team. Known for his powerful hitting, he earned the nickname “Sixer Sidhu” for his ability to hit sixes. Sidhu played in 51 Test matches, scoring over 3,200 runs with an average of around 42, including 9 centuries and 15 half-centuries. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he played 136 matches, amassing over 4,400 runs with an average of about 37, including 6 centuries and 33 half-centuries. Sidhu was particularly noted for his performances in the 1987 and 1996 Cricket World Cups. He retired from international cricket in 1999 and soon transitioned to a career in television commentary and politics.
