Pot(karah prasad)

When the practice of karah prasad was practiced during the time of Guru Gobind Singh, there was great poverty in the Punjab.
The Brahmins did not allow the poor and the Sudars to enter the temples.  They had never tasted sweet.

Sweet was the dish of the rich and the upper castes. The Guru broke the illusion of Brahmanism by creating the cauldron of Karah Pashad for all.
Those who had never seen a dish of desi ghee and sugar were able to do so thanks to the grace of the Guru.  Yes, happily say we eat karah. This is our culture and Guru’s heritage.

According to Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha, “The karah which is prepared according to the maryada and placed in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib and offered after the prayer with a sword is called karah prasad.

Prasad means, 1.  Happiness, happiness.  .  Cleanliness, purity.  .  Health.
And the cauldron means “cauldron, an iron vessel with an open mouth;
.  Food prepared in a pan;  Halua. ”  (Mahan Kosh) Karah Prasad is a symbol of unity, togetherness, uniformity, equality by eradicating discrimination, caste pride, high and low, rich and poor.

The Sikh Rehat Maryada instructs in this regard, “Do not discriminate on the basis of any prejudice or hatred.  Treat all Sikhs, non-Sikhs, lower and upper castes equally.  While administering Karah Prasad, one should not slander a person sitting in the Sangat for the sake of caste, creed and caste. ”
